Hey, guys, whatcha think of the tracker Karagarga? I wanted to download a movie from there that I had watched a long time ago - In the Name of All Mine. However, there were no English subs available for the movie, and when I asked on the forums for someone to translate the movie from French into English, no one responded.
I was able to download some great B movies from the tracker, such as Kansas and Enemy Mine. You know, movies like that have something in them - I am not sure how to explain it - but they have a heart and soul in them.
Also, I downloaded some documentary about Stalin from there; it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either.
The tracker really has a soul in it, and now they have a poll if you are addicted to Karagarga.

It's a cool place for cinema lover and one of best film trackers. Do have any particular question?

No, I don't have any particular question about it, but it's amazing that a site like this exists. I remember I was considering downloading the movie by the director Passolini from there (I think it's called 8 days in Salo). But I just couldn't force myself to download it, because I just can't watch movies like that. That movie was too extreme for me.
The staffers there are really democratic, don't you think? I mean, if your account ever gets disabled for inactivity or a low ratio, they will re-enable you if you promise that you'll be good in the future.

It's amazing that more sites like this don't exist or maybe it isn't since bt is dominated by younger people .
Also a site like KG , because it isn't dealing in the latest popular movies , probably doesn't have the same security concerns that a scene tracker does.
As for disabling for inactivity ,except for making a point , I've never really understood the concept since because you're presumably inactive you aren't robbing the tracker of bandwidth or anything.

Niche trackers will always be better than any large scale general tracker, because of the specialisation which binds all the users to that site.
ExtremeBits is a fine example. There are torrents on there which are over 3 years old, and still with 2 seeders on them, because of the dedication seen by it's userbase.

Well, I know what Idol posted once:

Old and classic moovees.

Oh yeah and art stuff .

By foreign types.

I think it's for security reasons. If your account is inactive for a long while, disable it, so that in the event someone manages to hijack it, it's useless to them. And he can't go to IRC and pretend to be the real owner, because staff can compare IPs and ask for the registered e-mail if in doubt, for example. Just what I think.

pruning for me lets another user in that may use the tracker. whats the point of having so many members, if only 20% of them actually use the place and the rest havnt signed in for over 6 months.

good movie
it's actually titled Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma = Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom

It's good place not for the old films only, it contains a lot of new foreign films too.

It's still a good decision not to download such trash . Actually the wisest thing would not to even acknowledge it's existence .

You arent missing anything. It's truly disgusting. It has all the charm and storyline of 'Two Girls, One Cup'. :(

The good thing is that they have a forum on which disabled people can plead their case. Most private trackers only have irc channels that disabled people can visit, but majority of trackers don't have a forum or a thread for such people or am I wrong?
What's their situation with donations? I remember that a few months ago they didn't have enough money in donations, but has the situation improved now?

I think that's because IRC is better for such purposes. If there's a staff member online, they'll reply as soon as they see your message, and will continue the conversation almost in real time. Much better than making a post and constantly checking for replies...

I would like to mention something else about the movie that I wanna watch, but can't because of my lack of knowledge of French: In the Name of All Mine. I watched that movie a long time ago (before I immigrated to the States), but was really impressed by it. At that time I believed it was one of the greatest Holocaust movies ever created. I actually like all Holocaust movies I ever watched (like Schindler's List, Black Book (though this one is not strictly a Holocaust movie), and etc. It just sucks that Karagarga doesn't have it with English subs. :(

The proper title is For Those I Loved / Au nom de tous les miens

And there's an English vhs rip DVD-R with hard coded Dutch subs on rapidshare .
I'll PM you the links. Hopefully it's still active

Rapidshare is a bitch for big files if you don't have a premium account but supposedly the film is rare as hell so maybe that's the best that you can hope for .
Btw I checked sub sites and there don't seem to be any available.

Okay, I downloaded the first rar file and unrarred it, but in that small segment, nobody said a word, so dunno yet if it's indeed in English.

Yes!!!! It's in English! And with the American pronunciation! Thanks!!

Sounds like its a nice tracker. I don't understand why many trackers ban for inactivity either. I mean sure, you may not be contributing to the tracker, but neither are you taking any resources...

Been a member of KG for a while now and I am far from active but have had no problems with inactivity. I somehow think they understand that they are a niche tracker so they put up little drama
They do have a collection unhead of on the internet though. Good site to be a member of.

That's really interesting that karagarga doesn't have the movie "In the Name of All Mine" with English audio or English subs.

haha, now you can upload to karagarga then
methinks I'd love to get on that tracker too, it's got alot of rare/old stuff

btw: inactive users 'need' to be kulled so that the whole (25k user-base?!) is more 'active' than not... (lol 25k)
