The same should be said about waffles...

Hydra mentality. If one gets shut down, the other will continue.

Also, I've always preferred the layout at BitGamer. I'm sure the people that don't like Gazelle feel the same way about Waffles.

No, they shouldn't.
Haven't you ever been told to not put all the eggs in the same basket ?

To begin with you haven't stated why, Variety has its value, also each tracker has its own cons and pros, merging them wouldn't be such a good idea.

Each has it's pro's and con's? There are no pro's for waffles and bitgamer over blackcats and what....

Blackcats & what = more torrents and more peers = higher quality torrents = more likely to find what you want... 'nuff said....

Does that mean that every other music tracker should be ceased to exist?

This is stupid. You seem to have forgotten the chaos after Oink went down, the impact the loss of that huge tracker had on the bittorrent world. Without Oink going down, What likely wouldn't have even existed, but it took them quite some time to reach their current status and fill the void. It's always good to have a choice, always good to have alternatives.

I'm not going to try to argue the merits of individualism ,diversity or that some people for whatever reason prefer ( and should therefore be given the choice of) a Dodge over a Ford .Instead keeping my response to a level you (hopefully) can understand : Did you create this thread simply because you did not reach your quota for stupid for today yet ?

Short answer : No.

Exactumundo!

I Know of 100 albums that are not yet on what, I got them from Rutracker and other DDL sources. The point to be noted here is that the people that have shared their releases wouldn't have done that on a certain specific tracker for various obvious reasons.

It's always good to have a choice, always good to have alternatives.

Plus one. Too much centralization isn't good.

By the way, while I prefer What over Waffles, the latter does have some stuff that can't be found on the former (and viceversa, obviously). I'm pretty sure the same happens with bG and BCG to some degree, although I can't compare them since I'm not really a gamer, and I only have a bG account because I created it when I was one.

Also, some people may prefer the "worse" sites for whatever reason, and that's perfectly fine. Just live and let live...

For same reason:
FTN ,E and Pedros should marge with HDBits.
Xtreme l33tness. :naughty:

That would expand the userbase and hence hurt the leetness level. If you want unmatched leetness, create a tracker on your dial-up, let Idoleyes join and close signups. Just make sure you don't allow any HD content.

create a tracker on your dial-up,

Thats exactly how BCG started actually. it wasnt quite dial up but it wasnt far off, 32KBs upload, on a 800mhz CPU, 8meg GFX, 12 gig hdd laptop

as for merging, it will never happen and tbh we probably have 80% of bitgamers userbase and those 40% of ours (not sure how many members they have got, but guessing its less than us). So pointless merging anyway.

Some members prefer them, others prefer us, each to their own and you cant please everyone 100% of the time. (even though I probably try too much to do so, but its impossible)

In a world where we weren't being actively hunted for what we do, centralization would be a good thing. Having a single torrent tracker with the pooled collections and resources of each private site would be fucking epic. A one stop shop for everything. Unfortunately it'd also be a huge unwieldy site to run, and it'd be a massive target for the authorities.

Not to mention that when such a site had server downtime/maintenance, all private torrenting would go to hell until it's back

Well with all of the pooled resources we'd have backup servers on backup servers :P

Disagree why do they need to merge. Like both sites the way they are. Sorry...

What would be the point of both sites merging?

Good point 3rd level backup servers might be necessary in some cases.

I chuckled at this line. This is funny.

i like both BCG and BG as they are
they don't need to merge nor is that a distinct possiblity in the future given their astronomical success
hence the thread is nonsensical ,

go spend that extra energy and empty mind by playing games

And if resulting site gets closed, you're gonna buy your games/music, or just shoot yourself in the head?
