Halflife Original Not Demo

I DL'd Halflife Link I think it was called. It played great but is a demo and not at all appently like the original game. Is that where the CD key canbe put to make full version? I'm confused because the description of how the game starts (on a tramway/conveyer) is not at all the way the version I had was. Do I need to load the demo from their website and enter the key in that?

cwctv: Thanks for responding.... the demo starts out with him having to run through a tunnel as the roof collapes.I'm looking for a copy of the retail version. Perhaps they scrambled it so it can't be ripped?
