wenever i start the game it says" Speed.exe has encoutered an error and needs to close"

"SEND" " DONT SEND"

i installed the crack correctly i even downloaded the patch from suprnova still duznt work

plz help me :( :(

it meets all the requirements cuz the info thing has all check marks.

try running in compatibility mode...

right click shortcut-> compatibility-> check the Run in compatibility box then select win98 for a start and try again.... try all of them if it keeps not working...

yea drivers are updated and evrything :D

EDIT: u noe wut wen i installed the demo version....the same thing happened but i thought tht there wuz a problem with the demo or dint download anythin....so it prolly is a driver problem :(

Yeah, that's what it does for me what specs do u have. Because I think it's because I need to upgrade my comp. New Processor, New Harddrive, New graphic card.

have you made sure youve got directx9 in, i needed that for a certain other street racing game, but my pc still isnt powerful enough

yea i hav dx9 i have a SiS 315 Video Card and p4 1.9ghz at 256sdram computer its prolly the specs.

download and install this. select the need for speed .exe.

tick 'performance/force SW TnL' and 'remove stuttering/performance mode'

test with wireframe, if it makes no difference use hook and turn wireframe off.

i cant garuntee anything but this is what i do to get a few extra fps on my games and i have to do it to make textures load at all on some. :)

There is clone cd image of the second disc and I think the crack doesn't work for most users so I am downloading that version to see if it works because it will load up on the game but it will ask for correct cd then I apply the crack and that's when it messes up so I am downloading the clone version of disc 2 to see if it works which it should.

I bet its your SiS . i have a friend with a brand new 2.2Ghz 128 RAM and a on board SiS. and he gets the same error message when trying to play GHost Recon.

Get a Geforce FX, or a TI 4600 if you can still find one

i downloaded a couple of cracks from game copy world

but u see the SAME tHING happens when i run the DEMO version of nfs....

but my video card meets the requirements and evrything... :(

Right, that error message is like the Illegal Operation Message that 98 and 95 used to have. Its prompting you to contact Microsoft and hasn't really got anything to do with the error. Click around the error window to see more about what went wrong and where.

That error message could mean anything.

I am comparing and trying to figure this out since I get the same error I think it is a direct x problem but I don't know yet.

heres wat i did...after i downloaded and installed the thing...it said like put in the correct cd and some error thing....to fix this....i changed the name of Speed.exe in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Need For Speed Underground to Speed(2).exe...and then i copied the Speed.exe or the hack thing from the CD1 to the same file...if its confusing...look at it this way...i replaced the Speed.exe installed with NFS with the Speed.exe from the CD1....i dunno if this will help cuz im not sure i understand your problem, but it worked for me..good luck

ok im pretty sure its not the video card cuz i used 3d anyalize program and changed the vendor id to a higher video card the game would still not work <_< :(

this could maybe be just that you downloaded a corrupted file....maybe?? or some error while you were burning it.....just a guess....

Nope not the reason. It has to be the specs the demo minimum requirements are

Did you replace the shortcut that was placed on your desktop while installing the game with a copy of the cracked one? I installed the cracked exe and then made a shortcut to it on my desktop and deleted the original shortcut( to the original exe .) and I got the same error.I then restored the original shortcut and deleted the shortcut to the cracked exe and it works just fine now.
Sounds stupid but it worked.

(The game isn't properly cracked. Only those of you who live in the USA can play it without problems. Others need to set your Windows language preferences to *US English*.) got this info from ShareReactor.com where u get verified files for edonkey and emule, it was for the DEViANCE version so not sure if its the same with other version that may be out there. i have not tryied this as i only have a 56k connection so do not have the game and won't be getting for some time.

have any of you guys tried looking for visual basic runtime files on this prob?

if that turns out to be the prob, you can get almost all versions of vbr's at www.webattack.com

btw- I havent seen any patches for this game yet. sorry, no help there.
