What System Should I Get?

I want to get a system and mod it so I can download games and play them.

What is best to get modded?

Xbox
Playstation 2
GameCube (not sure if i really wana buy it cuz not many games on and the special disk will cost too much :()

well a game cube will cost the least - best buy does price matching for up to 30 days on all purchases and gives an additional 10% back. Currently they have the Gamecube w/ Zelda bundle for around $100. Wal-Mart will be selling this exact bundle on Black Friday for $79.94. Cheat the system, get yours for $71.94 from Best Buy

but over all I think ps2 is the best to buy and mod

Is it even possible to mod a Gamecube so you can play downloaded games on it? I wouldn&#39;t think so, since the discs are smaller.

you can mod i think but the disk will cost extra more..since gc uses dvd right? and those are special dvd :(

not just Thanksgiving, just the fact that the day after is busiest shopping day of the year and most stores have awesome sales on stuff, think the root comes from black Monday the day the stock market crashed back in the day

as far as game cube, you can&#39;t copy the disc, but you can download games and stream them too you game cube, but not sure if it still has to be modded

Why start a new thread for this? There&#39;s hundred of these. Just go back and read the last few (it&#39;s not like the systems have changed since then). And, why would you buy a PlayStation when you could have a GameCube or Xbox (maybe you ment PS2?). Go back and read the old posts... There&#39;s one really good one that compares the systems side by side on everything.

too lazy to do a search...if i do a search of playstation there will be 100 results im not goin thru all of them besides i wana know NOW the current stuff those threads are like 1 month old... <_<

PS2 costs the most, and it still doesn&#39;t even come with extras like the Xbox, e.g. a built in hard drive...

Last time I checked those threads were still about Xbox, PS2 and GameCube, arn&#39;t those the consoles your asking about? So there not behind then. There&#39;s one that people were replying to ununtil about yesterday. Not much has changed, Xbox is still the best as it has greater graphics and more options out of the box, also best online play. If your after plenty of games and exculsives go the PS2, and if you just want exclusives, go the GameCube. However, the Xbox is getting better and better, and also holds it&#39;s own pile of exclusive games... I&#39;m not a fan boy of any, I still like my Sega Dreamcast the best, so buy what you like.

And just wait til Christmas if ya can, then the sales will really start popping up :)

hey. muchspl2. you accidently forgot the gamecube


you might as well get one at eighty quid and just get the brilliant games and play the rest on your pc. (ive found many ps2 and xbox only games are released on the pc but i can only remember 1 n64 only game on the pc)

its a pretty wise (efficiant/cheap) idea. and its only a couple weeks scrict saving up. (for me anyway)
