Some Questions On The Forum's Hosting

After I recently installed an invisionboard on my computer, I just was suprised of the huge MySQL Database - about 20MB - although my Forum was nearly empty. How huge the Database of the K-Lite Forum must be? It has I think an estimately nearly 10.000 posts. Might be some hundreds of MB's.

And I also asked myself, if the Forum is hosted on a strange server or on a computer of one of the admins, which is connected with 24/7 to the internet?

Why am I just a little suspicious of your reasons?

20mb, you did something wrong. Mine is about 2mb before optimizing, a little over 100 posts, plus some website stuff.

I looked out for the files of the database - does the files of the Board have "ibf_" in front of the filename? If yes, my InvBoard 1.2 which I prefered to test out, is about 1.10mb.

What is about this database optimazation? How I do that?
