I'm starting the NAWP. National Association of White People. We can have our own forums! We can have our own scholarships! We can have our own famous spokespeople! So, who's in?

All other races have their own organizations except your good ole white man/woman. In the past, if the white people had such organizations, it would be considered racist. Well no more! I'm calling all white people to band together. Join the NAWP.

As long as people keep looking at it as stereotypicals, it still is a problem yes. If you&#39;d see some white shabbily dressed bum with a whisky bottle in his hands trying to steal those things in the pics, no one would say a thing about it.

Ok having flicked thru this thread I see a lot of people have gone defensive.

If I may I will have my say.

First , I am not racist, I have several different ethic group friends :)

A problem I have seen rising for many years now is the racism of decades gone by has turned round, white people are now the target.
A Black person can call a white man "Chalky " etc and nothing is said, what happens when the situation is reversed?
Indians, Africans, Chinese, Japanese and many other ethnic groups are allowed gatherings and groups which white people are not welcome, but if a group of white people do the same it&#39;s racism.

Somehow that does&#39;nt really sit right with me, I&#39;ve also noticed with several of the various above mentioned groups that if a white man has an argument with them he&#39;s doing it because of their creed, but the situation reversed its just a fight.

I hope you all understand what I am trying to say.
I&#39;m not in anyway acusing nor having a pop at anyone of any group.

I don&#39;t have a problem of being proud, of being Caucasian. Why not? Do I have to be something else other than that, to join a club?

There are pop music charts for Latinos.
There are music awards for black artists.
There are scholarships for Indians.
There is a Jewish foundation.

But you never hear of an organization for white people. (And don&#39;t even mention that KKK, that sort of stuff is NOT what I mean&#33;&#33;&#33;).

It would be refreshing to see a well accepted organization that was exclusively for white people to be proud of who they are, of course other races would be welcome to participate too, just as the NAACP does.


How about a "White Miss America" beauty pagant? Or, "This years white music artist award goes to...". How about WET the White Entertainment Channel? and White Athlete of the Year&#33; White history month would be a real winner. Listen to WHT radio station, and hear your favorite white songs. We honkies are proud to call each other honkies.

I personally hate anything which promotes cliquishness which these sorts of things do. But I&#39;m not totally against the current trend towards positive discrimination, as i see it as only a temporary stage seeking to redress the balance. It is unfair, but if no action were taken the drift towards true equality would be pitifully slow.
About the guy &#39;calling all indians&#39; was this not an attempt to find people from his country/area? If someone had made the same thread about norwegians, dutch or americans, I wouldn&#39;t bat an eyelid and neither would anyone else i think, but trying to specify all white people is different, it suggests that white people the world over are different to people of other colours. the idea of a white people&#39;s organization in any predominantly white society is ridiculous. the reason that minorities feel the need to organize is because they are in the minority-- some people actually have to make an effort to seek out & interact with people who have similar backgrounds, culture, interests, etc just because they are so few and far between. the majority ethnicity & culture does not need to be organized or promoted, because it is the majority-- a member of the majority could put on a blindfold, throw a rock out the window, and prolly hit someone that they have a lot in common with.

"white people oughta have a club too" amounts to little more than mockery and gloating by people who have the luxury of being part of a culture that&#39;s essentially controlled by people exactly like themselves. you can switch on C-SPAN, PBS, Joe Millionaire or just about any other american media, and see wall-to-wall whiteness... do we really need a club for it?

edit: just in case the answer isn&#39;t obvious-- the majority does not need a club. society is their club.
