OK, I watched Back To The Future 2 last night and man, it was goood B)

I'm in the mood for another film set in the future but can't think what to download. I watched Minority Report a few weeks ago also and that was another damn good film.

So, any suggestions?

Uhm... Species 1? Or The Abyss? Or Face Off... or (My favorite: Fire in The Sky) or Total Recall or Red Planet or Phenomenon or Bruce Lee's Enter The Dragon or Cast Away or Pitch Black or The Gladiator or Flatliners.... to give you an idea...

Did it help you in any way?

Yes that was most definitely a help :) . You see I know all these films but I can never remember them when I sit down at the computer

Total Recall - oh yes!
Species
Flatliners - I'd definitely forgotten about that - a real good film.

But Phenomenon/Cast Away - these were set in the future??

Futuristic remake of 'Midnight Express' with some woman from a civilised western democracy being incarcerated and bashed senselessly for politically motivated 'crimes'. Failing to vote...failing to wear a seat belt...led this woman into a spiral of descent and debasing heinous criminal behaviour.

It hasn't been previewed yet ... shooting hasn't commenced. Although it may have a tinge of reality based TV to it, so I wouldn't anticipate the facilities being top class to capture the images of 'life on the inside'.

Terminator 1 and 2 (along with Predator 1 and 2 :))I downloaded this week, but haven't got round to watching them yet.

Event Horizon - another good choice, really enjoyed that movie.

Matrix - is there anyone left who hasn't seen that film? I think I'll be watching Matrix Reloaded at the cinema, unless someone finds a screener before it reaches the pictures here in the UK. Doesn't seem to be as many screeners as of late, or maybe it's just cos the verifieds and Darth Sushi are no longer here to guide us the way

edit: Chilly I think I've said this before but I love that pic in your signature - reminds me of Mortal Kombat on the N64!

A Clockwork Orange.

When it was make (in the 70s), it was supposed to represent a very bleak future... which happend to be the 90s...
Can still be looked upon as a "futuristic movie"

If you're talking old movies, then how about Silent Running, or even better, that classic Death Race 2000.
:P

Definetely Soylent Green.

Rather ominously, although I may have been delirious, I thought I saw the name of a company connected with a 'work' they had prepared somewhere.

OK, as I said above I was very drunk last night. I just woke up and read my post from last night  . I am English, honest! Normally my grammar is very good - check my posts if you don't believe me :D

Thanks for the suggestions, and one little question, following from Jetje's post:

I don't particularly like Star Trek the series, but I think i might enjoy the films. Do I really need to have watched the series to appreciate the films?

T1 &T2 are the best futuristic films i've seen. Me too patiently await T3. These films are taken from books. I red T1 long before the film came oot.
