No, KLR dosen't remove anything. KLR just makes it so it dosent need to load the misc. .dll's.

This get rid of the spyware/adware and all the other crap.

Ok. Does this also do what KLR does then? And what's with the reg keys I'm hearing about, can you fill me in?
Is this better than KLR?

I don't mean any affence to RN, but yes this is better. It does what KLR does but more, and it gets rid of the spyware/adware.

The reg file is so Kunal can make an installer for KLR.

well it's all what KLR also does (features) but the extra is here the remove of spyware.. you know... i think this person used the code from KLR and made the extra of deleting all spyware (what also can be done manualy.) so nothing extra's to me.. if only KL extensions could be loaded...*dreaming*

I know what you are saying, i think he did use KLR to do it. I thnk this is faster, and most people don't know how to get rid of the spyware. Also it gets rid of the startpage.

I to wish for KLE to be in it. I dont think it will be long tho.

Two more question:

Even though KLE won't load with KMD will they still work if I used them? Like Kazupernodes and the IP BLocker and such?

And will I have to do any tweaking with the registry?

And thanks Agent Smith, you're very helpful! B)

and it confusing  there is 3 or mybe more threats containing KMD 2.6, kazaa k++ 2.6 and klr and this threat with clean KMD 2.6 which is the best

Since Sharemen is booting anything under 2.6, k-lite 2.4.2 (witch is kmd 2.0.2) gets slow speeds and less users. Before KMD 2.6 i got speed of 50-90, now i get 100-200.

Also i can fix the startpage, just a matter of time.

RileyF
12-12-2003, 12:07 PM
i agree, it's just a matter of time before there will be a full Kazaa lite with maybe even also K++ functionality, More and more people are trying to hack kmd 2.6 and change the values and edit the resource sections and even write loaders and other program for it. for now it's just waitng for that day..

Yes it is an installer, also it has a file it asks you to move into the kazaa directory.

Its kazaa.exe (2.4mb) and KLR is 5kb, so it not the same thing i think.

The thing that get installed are folder.ico (23kb), Kazaa.exe(2.4mb), unins000.dat (2kb), start.exe (52kb), unins000.exe (74kb).

And thats about it.

EDIT: Seems to me it installs backwards. ;)

This one is the best, i believe. Does what KLR and diet-k does, but you don't need two programs.

klr, if that's what you need the reg file for, doesn't access the registry. I don't know if the klr that's included in that installer accesses the registry but my guess is that it's an unmodified klr in which case you don't need to update the registry. [/b][/quote]
it still needs standard kazaa registry keys to connect to the network, i know these are located at HKCU\Software\Kazaa and HKLM\Software\Kazaa, but if you had a reg file (which you most likely do) i was wondering could i have it, as i want to make my own installer

You can save any registry key using regedit.exe. Start it, right-click the registry "folder" you want to save, and choose Export, then save as Win9x/NT registry file.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Kazaa\Cloudload the ExeDir to

C:\Program Files\Clean KMD\start.exe

you could add the KL Config Wizzard

you can download it here!

one more thing to add, its useful in every way,

you probably know what this is, but i will give it a small breifing,

As you know, when we change our shared folders directory, the shortcut doesn't move. Well this thing searches for the regestry for the shared folder, and opens the folder.

:( It dosen't seem like that will happen. At least not anytime soon. If Sharemen gets 2.4.3 kicked of the network. Version 2.1.0 of K-lite can change the version number and you be able to stay on the network.
