Probly not, but i do try to help with the one RAZZ is making. There is no point in making another when Razz is doing the best any of us can do.

Windows 98 combatibly should come. You'll just have to be patient. sorry :(

EDIT: I do have a version that is clean, but not as clean as Razz's version. It dosen't load with KLR so mabey it will work. I would need someone to test it that has win98. ;)

PM me if you have win98, all i need is one person to try it.

You can also get kazaa 2.6 from kazaa.com and then use dietk for 2.6. Works great and even has unlimited auto searchmore. But as long as klite 2.43 is working great why switch. Plus I dont believe it is being cut off from the network anyways.

Stick to that version and update the Kl that was launched by Agent Smith.

rafi-d, dietk can backup and restore your participation level. So all you need to do is leave it on overnight or as long as it takes to get enough uploads to hit a 1000 level then simply back it up. Then you can restore it any time it goes down. But again I would stick with klite as long as it is working fine. Searches turn up more results and downloads are faster than in the actual kazaa program.

FUCK OFF! We aren't SO stupid... Win98 is the only OS which is working on my system. XP don't! I have an old computer!

It doesnt really matter if you have an old computer, windows xp doesnt work as well ever. I have a brand new homebuilt computer and it absolutely refused to do anything with windows xp above the level of typing things up in notepad. I have since switched back down to windows 98 and as long as i dont get any of those nasty critical updates it works perfectly. It does take a good bit more work to get windows 98 running as good as windows xp (when windows xp does run) but it more than makes up for it in reliability. I can actually leave my computer on for a week straight with no discernable problems under win98, whereas windows xp was lucky to not freeze if left alone for more than 3 hours.

Their must have bin something wrong with your installation, XP has bin running great for me. I have yet to have even one crash, BSD etc. that required a restart.

and yes I do lots more with it than just type in notepad.

Did you do an upgrade instead of a full install, if so you might have had some corrupt system files. The best thing when installing a new OS is to reformat and do a full clean install.

Yeah same here, XP runs fine. I have a farley old computer, and it hasen't crashed once. Also i don't get and annoying "Illegal Operation" ever 10min. as i did when i had windows 98. It would be wise to do a full install of XP.

Well. You should update your XP then nad clean your computer! Win98 is bullshit... Maybe 2k is better than XP, but fact is that - xp is much more stable than 98! 98 just runs faster on old machines!
that's it :/

same here, i can leave my computer on for weeks at a time if i want to, and wont get 1 error, XP is the most stable, in all cases where you would know 98/ME would crash, XP doesn't... i can make 98 crash on purpose if i wanted to :)

the "old" PL Backup & Restore method is very unconvenient. the "pemanent" hacks are much better. I think I'll try one of the new 2.6 versions that may be doing that. (still waiting for one that will run on Win 98 ...)

So, If that is so is the following equation true :
K-Hack + DietK == KLchat = a solution for Win98 users

you can make XP faster by turning off all the eye candy.

just right click on my computer,
click properties,
click the advanced tab,
under performance click settings,
in the box that opens select adjust for best performance and click OK.

Correct! And instead of warrying about how we should upgrade, just make a Win98 compatible 2.6 version!

BTW - 27% of all Windows users in the world ARE Windows 98 users ... !!!

MS announced that a long time ago already, and nothing bad happened to Win 98 users.

Find another reason to upgrade ...
