i was thinking about that, but i wasnt wantin to sound to cheeky or anything, since i would be stealin all his bandwidth, its only a 512k cable. and he runs a webserver on it too. and the fact i dont live here, its just so my g/f could get high connection and more sources.

Well unless you open the ports your not going to get a high id.

i know, but i thought there mighta been a way to tunnel through or something.

if u check out the help file with emule its shows you how to open ports with some routers. but youd be better lookin at the manual for your router. or whatever you have?

Ok I figured it out.

If you own a d-link router, they have EXCELLENT instructions on how to open which ports etc. for emule and bittorrent and other services.

now i have a high id.. yay :)

How do you know what you have? HighID or LowID. I think I have a LowID but my upload limit is 12kb/sec. I read in help HighID means you have 10 or more kb/sec but that can't be correct if in fact I have a LowID.

Edit: My client is eMule 0.30e.

highid users have a green world icon on the bottom right. This might vary depending on client you use (i use emuleplus). Lowids are yellow worlds.
The upload doesnt really indicate the id at all.

High ID is given (mainly) if your port 4662 is reachable. If it is blocked or cannot be reached, you get a Low ID. This can be caused by firewalls, routers or proxy servers.

not just 4662, it depends on wht port you are actually using.

If everything's set as default, it's 4662.
