Well Now Is the time to start tagging Your Mp3 files
i tagged over 900 albums in about 5 single days

the reason why you need to tag

1. when you download most albums from the net they come with stupid comments
in the properties of the tags that could get you sued hence ripped by efnet etc.
the riaa sued a women who was sharing songs that she had downloaded from napster over 2 years ago why!! because the songs were tagged from napster and the riaa had blacklisted the songs.

2. tagging can tell if your albums are fakes or have missing tracks from that album and beleve me i have found lots from supernova that arent complete albums, and have also found a few hundred albums with comments that cant even be removed by right clicking on the mp3 Why!! because there invisable comments only can be seen with mp3 tag.

3 the program is is very easy to use it takes about 30 secs to tag an album consdering its a complete album.

4 Sometimes when you rip an album using EAC it dont get the names is the album is just released, but with mp3 tag it gets them, i've only came across 1 album that mp3tag could'nt name.

the program is free just like your best ripper & encoder Eac & Lame.

its amazing the amount of shittyweb pages sites that are springing up when you search for mp3 taggers buy now only $30 lol.

the RIAA used the hashes for these files to discover they were from Napster, not the tags present

otherwise, a good post :)

wizzy what ya talking about you can load as many albums as your memory and hard disk space if you got alot.

be careful though loading lots of albums in as you can make a mistake you can fk up your mp3s always make a backup copy of the music album 1st until you no what your doing and no how to work the program took me all of an hour to no how to work it, 3 clicks of a mouse and the album is tagged.

Firstly, I do not use tags at all as, like what was stated earlier, most contain rubbish in them. I do not wish to own thousands of mp3's containing comments such as 'rIpPeD bY dEaThMaStEr'. It's just plain stupid.

I've been using TagScanner (http://xdev.narod.ru/index_e.htm) for many years now, after being introduced to it in another forum. It does basically everything you could ask for including batch tagging and renaming. I have over a thousand mp3's and it can safely remove the ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags in roughly 2 mins.

I've attached a screenshot...

I personally like Winamp's tagger. You do it one at a time and you could put anything in it.
