I hear about people being caught and fined for downloading from kazaa. I don't have a clue about all this and have tried looking at past posts, but there is just too much. So...

Is it just in the USA that you can be caught and fined?
Can certain versions of kazaa prevent you from being caught?

(ps. This can be deleted once I get a response. Thanks)

Copyright owners are represented legally through different groups in different countries. RIAA are music copyrightholder representatives in the US.
Don't use KaZaA, use K-Lite.
You are not safe from the lawyers when using any type of p2p.
Sharing copyrighted material is illegal in most countries.
It's a calculated risk, and it's up to you to decide if it's worth it.
