If the installer you included is a downloaded from overnet.com and not modded a bit, you'll get spyware even if you deselect the ad stuff during the installation.

I've been working on a little project creating my own installer for Overnet so it will be 100% adfree. But as you can see here (http://klboard.ath.cx/index.php?showtopic=87597&st=0&#entry745451) I've ran into some problems.

Applying a dll file doesn&#39;t uninstall or delete installed spyware.

My little project witch I&#39;ve mentioned is to create a new installer for Overnet witch doesn&#39;t include all that spyware crab. And I&#39;m 98% finished, the 1% remaining is to get the Components Dropdown Select Box removed, and the last 1% is to test it out and fix/add things I might have missed.

Update: I still havn&#39;t fixed the problem I mentioned above, but I decided to throw BetaMaster&#39;s nice plugin, plus some registry keys witch will give ya an Overnet Pro installation&#33; ;)

dude overnet has no spyware, and as i said once you install it just search for the crack uploader and then you will have no banner(adware) either

actually you don&#39;t even need any "cracks" if you add a few entries to your HOSTS file, you can register overnet/edonkey2000 for free and block the ad/javascript riddled start page

127.0.0.1 home.edonkey2000.com

BTW if you run a small webserver on your PC you can even customize the startpage however you want.

what the hell are you talking about i already have overnet and ot only do i check my pc with adaware but i also check it with spy sweeper which much better and gets stuff adaware does not get, you need to check and see all the stuff you are talking about came from, because i tell you right now its not overnet, unless you installed all the crap 3rd party that you were not suppose to :lol: :frusty: :frusty:

So what is the deal with "Overnet Lite"???

Does it contain any "crap" or not? Personally I would like to just dump this "credit-building" Emule bullshit in favor for something alittle more responsive. I do share. My bandwidth is always set to the limit for users downloading from me. I usually connect to some of the better servers I know of (Razorback, SEGD...) and my system runs on a decent DSL connection. And despite running EMule consistently to build "credit", I still am only able to connect at speeds no greater than 6kbps downloading only one file at a time using the latest release of eMule Plus. :frusty:
