An Ode to the NFL Championships

Nary 48 hours is all that remains,
till kickoffs, returns and triumphant gains,

When men don their armor, helmets and such,
and head out to field,
Where pain's felt so much,

and when all's said and done,
only two then remain,
They'll regroup...they will heal,
to fight.....once more....again.

There was one mod on our side (he's American I think) but he said he is outnumbered.

;) The Colts are going to have a hard time against that New England Defence. And you know what they say..."Defence wins".Still should be a good Game.If Manning can keep that Offence going.

As far as the NFC goes.Philly has to do it now or they will not be back. They have been to the Championship 3 Years in a row.I do not see them doing it for a 4th.But Carolina is the underdog. That is good. They are fresh as to where Philly is a little worn out from the past few Years.

:D Either way.You know me.AFC in the SuperBowl.Go AFC! :D

I believe when teams get to this level you can throw out all the statistics...it's just foreplay. All four teams are there with only one thing in mind...Super Bowl! Being an underdog will only make you play that much harder and smarter. They will all play their best with the talent they have, trying to avoid costly mistakes like missed field goals, not scoring in the red zone, quarterback sacks, etc etc, At the end it will simply be a matter of which team scored more points than their opponent when time runs out.

Yes, the Eagles have squandared their chances....it's now or never.... GO IGGLES!!

FC-

I think if Peyton does his thing, the only thing that might slow him up would be the cold, which will be extreme; his receivers' reaction to it will weigh also.

He has been playing at a level that transcends defense, I think.

Can he keep it up?

For my money, that will be the question of the weekend. ;)

Just watched Ruben Stoddard sing the national anthem to start the second game. Just a fantastic job, always brings chills. You can tell when someone is in a groove when you hear the fans really singing too.

The star spangled banner is a song which requires a smooth voice in the beginning and a booming voice to close it out. Seen it scrrewed up too many times. I really hate it when they wheel out some famous chior and watch them turn it into some fruitloop rendition. This song is best performed solo.

Oh Ya FC. I could never support an AFC team. Carolina will win big in the Super Bowl, make no mistake about it. Tom Brady and the Pats won't be able to withstand the kind of rush you saw today. For now, I need to ease the disappointment I'm feeling after seeing the Eagles lose their 3rd straight NFC Championship opportunity. :)

carolina's done something, getting to where theyre going,
