The Water Festival Day (it's got a catchier name but doesn't translate well) is the best celebration I've been at - it's just a nationwide water fight.

When you drive around people have big waterguns that they squirt at you, when you walk in the street someone frm a window above will throw a bucket of water at you, and there's just water bombs everywhere. EVERYONE in the country joins in it's amazing.

It's to celebrate the rainy season or something like that but now everyone just stocks up on balloons and waterpumps and the whols country goes nuts for the day. On all the occasions I've been there for it I've been in BKK and had water launched at me every few minutes.

Will probably be there for it this year :)
