ABC Download Page (http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/download.html)

ABC, is based on SHADOW's EXPERIMENTAL. Basically... it's good! :D

Shadow's is really good, but not for many torrents. ABC is perfect for a lot of torrents. It uses one process and one windows for everything, instead of one for each.

I would say, it's the second best client I've used. It uses litle resources, and is very configurable, including hvaing the feature to set timers on the torrents(usually people who have low bandwidth).

Also check out azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/). It by far, has the most feature, and I seem to get the best speeds, but uses a bit more resources than ABC. It really just depends on taste....

The homepage wasn't updated yet. This is another link that I found.

ABC is the only client I've tried (other than the official one), and so far I'm really happy with it. I get decent speeds, and it has lots of nice features that make it similar to other P2P apps like K-Lite or eMule (but without the Search function).

How long before it becomes unstable for you? I would like to avoid this situation.

I have to agree with you. Ever since I tried Azureus, I ditched Shadows. I'm getting better speeds, and I love the extra options it has.

I'll check out the link, thanks.

I read about that in the forum on ABC's website. They just forgot to change the version number in some places.

This is sort of like that age old question....

Question: What is the best wine to have with your dinner?

Answer: The kind you like.

Its the same thing here. The best client, is the one that works best on your system.

Well, to the people that said thanx.... No prob! :D Even though at the moment, I'm using Azureus, but I'm always switching. And maybe ABC version 2.6.3 will fix the version info in the about menu ;)

Hate to break it to you but Azureus is the new breed of bittorrent ,shame more arent trying to develop it.
Ancient chinese proverb says: dont knock it until you try it.

& how isnt it that bad mate  ??

I said a few times i thought this client was the best. There's no knockin' the features. The fact is its unstable a fuck..After seediing a while the speed starts to fluctuate all over the place. You set it on super seed n in randomly reverts back to seeding.I open certain programs ,the speed drops to zero & not from lack of resources either. :)

Interesting. I never had those problems. The only problem I ever had with it was it using too much system resources. I downloaded the latest CVS and it's working like a charm now.

Maybe mate.Althou they dont always carry banners.I wanna keep using this client lol, until the problems for me hopfully gets fixed,i'm not using something that could freeze/crash n lose unsaved work, settings i've made in programs that run in the background ,firewalls blah blah needs to be shutdown or a reboot to be saved, info i wont get back, cause files to currupt.Or even kill a long hrs encoding....That aint my biggy issuse anyway mate it do run pretty stable on mine ,the functions just dont.

:)
