I was deciding on getting a mp3 cd player, but i was wondering if i should spend more money and get this http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...d=&newdeptid=19 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&dept=0&WLBS=fsweb12&sku_id=0665000FS10026789&catid=&newdeptid=19) or should i get this one http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...d=&newdeptid=19 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&dept=0&WLBS=fsweb12&sku_id=0665000FS10032627&catid=&newdeptid=19) wich looks fine and spend the rest of the money one some speakers for it. Should i go for the more expesive one or get the cheaper one wich looks fine and get some speakers too.

Out of the two I would definetly go for the dearer one, as the cheaper one has no ac adaptor supplied, it isn't cdrw compatible, is nearly double the weight and the expected battery life isn't stated and for that price I wouldn't expect the battery life to be very long, under 10 hours would be my guess.
None of them support id3 tags and the anti shock memory on them isn't that great either.

I have the sony D-NE511 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/electronics/B00008XYIQ/system-requirements/ref=ed_tec_dp_2_1/202-7369830-9417461)
The battery life is upto 80 hours, when encoded as atrac. Only sony players use atrac compression, but with it you get much longer battery life and about 24 hours of music on one cd.

Edit- you can get a sony one for not much more than the panasonic.

there was a tip in the manual of my dvd player which i found pretty handy was to put the tracks you first want played into a folder called 001 or just 1 or something like that, then in that folder put teh songs in order that you want them played by adding 001 to teh first, 002 to the second etc. etc. and it will automatically play 001>001 first and so on, which is pretty kool and i use that feature when i burn mp3's

save the extra money for a 5gb ipod. very good item. mp3 cd players tend to end songs early, or not read some at all and are a lot more fragile than mp3 players. and yes, ipods do work with windows.
