I'm looking for a simple , small program to create and edit 2D designs. Nothing fancy , not professional , with a user-friendly interface. Paint doesn't suit my needs at all (except for doodleing :) ) . I can get my hands on a full copy of Corel Draw 9.0 (legally) for free , but that's overkill for what I'd like to do.

So , any freeware program that'll let me draw in 2D , that's easy to use and won't swallow a chunk of my hard drive will do. Any ideas ?

Illustrator or FreeHand.

You should also look into Gimp or Photoshop. :)
