As you may know I am a DialUp User. Recently I had the idea to keep
an Invision Board running while I am online so that people can directly leave
messages or files on my computer. What do you think of this idea?

I already prepared the board and looked up a site with many stuff for
Invision Boards: ibplanet.com. There is many stuff I could add and I added
some skins to my board. But do you have any idea what else I should add?
I mean: What do you expect of a board which is a place to get directly in
contact with me?

Thanks for your thoughts. Just make a list, what comes to your mind when reading.

forums are not meant to be in contact with someone. Its a community where people hang out. Do you have free invision board hosting from somewhere or do u host on your computer?

Apart from ibplanet there is invisionthings.com (http://invisionthings.com)and invisiontools.com (http://invisiontools.com)

I host it on my computer directly. I also think of ICQ, being better probably.

I use Miranda IM for connecting to ICQ - it supports many other protocols as well
as IRC.

Trillian is much better. You can get pro version on emule klite whatever p2p you have. You can have ICQ, IRC, Yahoo, MSN, AOL all in one messenger. Its quite impressive.

remember that with trillian you've got limitations on ICQ
