.avi To Mpg

i downloaded a movie from from supernova. The movie is in .avi format and i wanted to burn it to a VCD.

I know how to burn a VCD....i use Gspot and TMPGEnc (TP) to make VCD's.

But when i tried to convert .avi movie into .mpg format there was no sound. A error popped up saying: Invalid pointer opreation!! WTF??

Can someone plz tell me wad's wrong here ??

the .avi was probably xvid codec, when i converted one of those it made the movie twice as long and there was no sound

well you did something wrong I convert xvid all the time and have 0 problems
check your codecs
