I installed motherboard monitor 5 a min ago, rebooted my pc and ran the program. As soon as i ran the program I got a load noise from my PC (siren noise) and a popup saying my CPU was 88C I knew this wasn't right because my pc would have been gone long ago. However I think the program has put my fan too full speed and i want it back how it was. The fan is now too loud and is annoyin the hell out me! HELP!!

Were you running anything else that monitors temps?
I once had mbm5 and asus probe on at the same time, it caused faulty readings.
The bloody alarm went of at 3am and woke up the whole house.

the alarm nearly gave me a heart attack. it was from my motherboard too because i had my speakers off. I didn't know it would be so loud! No, I didn't have anything else running at the time just the motherboard thing. My fan went up as soon as the alarm went off <_<

What do you have that is already controlling your CPU fan? Seeing as how its only running at 1600RPM.

nothing

however the reading was taken when the cpu wasn't under and strain. I have heard it go up by itself when my cpu is heavily used. I have had the PC a few years and had no problems

Could you give us the specs on your computer?

mbm is probably reading the wrong sensor. first set teh alarm settings to make it not go off when the cpu gets too hot, then go to temperatures and find cpu then change sensors until you get the right temp.
