i was wondering if anyone knows of a

software program that can lock a folder

with a password

Are you using win2000/xp with NTFS file system. Then you can just set user permission and use encryption.

how do i go about it

right click on the folder/file u wish to encrypt, click advanced under attributes, check the "encryt contects to secure data" box.

this will only let the user who encryted the folder/file access it. it doesnt use password, but it wont allow ne1 else access it unless ure logged on to the account tht encrypted the folder/file.
