Let me say first I used Norton Ghost for 2 years.

I do what it says in my sig. Acronis Migrate Easy & a spare HDD has been my easiest solution yet. My experience with Norton/Symantec Ghost was good until my spare HDD wouldn't boot. Norton Ghost was arbitraryly destroying my system files needed to boot. The Acronis Migrate Easy interface is easier & more step by step (more detailed) than Norton Ghost. With HDD's so cheap this is my current solution. I can easily choose to keep or destroy data from the source drive. Also I can easily accept current partitions on destination HDD or change them. Ability to review different & many choices (very easily explained too, in a window below the selection process) in AME make it hands down my choice over NG.

Does anybody who has experience with both Acronis MigrateEasy & Norton/Symantec Ghost disagree?

Why do yall want to back stuff up so bad? Just make 2 partitions or something...i keep all my media on the big partition and my Windows on the 20GB C: drive. That way if something happens i just format..no prob. Why do yall have to back it all up?

What happens if the DRIVE breaks down? ;)

Only things that are worthy of backup:
Work stuff
Save-games
Porn :smilie4:

Cause I've had some shitty HDD's. RMA'd like a total of 5 HDD's in 2 years. I live in very hot climate too. So that doesn't help. It's all in my sig.

Edit:Btw to get back to my original point anybody have experience with both NG & AME? And having had experience with both, which do you prefer?

mainly because of all the updates

Installing xp takes 10mins or so, installing progs a couple of hours, updating everything takes forever

Norton Ghost is great
