Hey,
ive got a WINFAST PVR Tv card and i want to hook up my vcr to it so I can record video tapes onto my hard drive. Ive mentioned it here before so I went to the electronics shop and the guy there said i didnt need anything. He said to do it the "AV" way some thing about hooking up the yellow rca cable from the tv card to the vcr. But ive tried that and it didnt work but he reckons thats how u do it, so i bought a SCART/3 RCA/S-VHS ADAPTER WITH IN/OUT SIGNAL SWITCH anyway and a yellow video link. So how would i do it?

plug the yellow video cable into the video out on teh vcr and into teh video in on teh tv tuner. then plug the 2 rca cables into an adaptor like this one: http://filesharingtalk.com/sigs/tryryrtyfg.jpg and plug the adaptor into the line-in of your soundcard.

now just flick through the software's channels until it gets to input or something like that (wont be channel 4).

the tv card doesnt have a video in, it only has a tv antena slot and a s-video slot, the s-video has a little cable which has two ends, a yellow rca input and a s-video imput, and my adapter has 3 rca slots and a s-video slot, and on the other end i think its called a scart its long and has heaps of pins. But the dude at the shop said i didnt need nuthin.

u should be able to do it via the normal coaxial cables, connect one end to the vcr-out, and the oher to the antena plug of your tv card and it should work that way.

The TV/Vcr end ,

and my adapter has 3 rca slots and a s-video slot
but no mention of whats at the Vcr end could be scart!!!

Did you set the Vcr to AV out either with the remote to say av1/av2 out or is there a little switch for this,it all depends on make/model and the age of the Vcr.

should be able to do it via the normal coaxial cables
That should work fine except the quality isn't as good.
