Your browser saves pages as "cache", in which everytime it visits the page it does not have to download all the information it can pull it from the "cache".

Since you formatted, you have lost all your cache.

Until you get that fixed, get your critical updates manually from here (http://download.microsoft.com/)

well it started to download and install updates all by it self today...go figure...
maybe it just needed time.... :) but the smileys aren't working and i can't get to some old sites... I think it might be a security thing. plus I gotta figure out my email...all in all I suggest don't start something you don't have a clue on doing

that smiley was put on manually can't do the clickable ones

try going into device manager and see if there is a problem with any devices, mainly the cable modem or network driver (depends if u use a usb modem or ethernet). if not download the latest driver anyway.

When you first install XP home you're extremely vulnerable to trojans until you've installed SP1 and all the other critical updates since then. I highly recommend going here for an online virus scan...

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Then you should go here to see which Services you can disable...

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

I also recommend Norton Utilities to help fix some of your other problems.

adobe has nothing to do with the smileys but if they work then what the hell who cares right?

black viper is a guy who made a website which has an awsome guide about disabling services, read the guide then do it yourself, it will improve performance.
