Hl2 Voucher

hey, i recently 'acquired' a the registration number from one of those half life 2 vouchers from a 9600XT. my friend said that you can use it to play CS and some other games until Half life 2 is released. is this correct? and if so how do i register to get my cd key and stuff?

edit: it was a fake key :( but how would u register anyway?
