adobe premiere pro, ulead movie studio, pure motion edit studio , main concept eve , just to name a few

adobe after effects is good too, man there are so many , but the above ones are the industry standard ones that can do just about any video editing requirements

I've heard lots of good things about Final Cut Pro if you own a Mac.

i have it. It's a great programme. Much more user friendly than adobe premiere and i think has most of the same features.

If you want the best then use Avid or Avid Pro. It's what HollyWood use's. Truly is the best.

Yep, I also recommend Avid XPress DV, once you get used to all the keyboard shortcuts, you'll find it much more user-freindly and powerfull than Adobe Premiere

No, it's just that what the software can do and how fast it does it.
