In years gone by I have used Audiograbber and fhr to rip/encode, but I've read some nice things about EAC/LAME.

OK, I've got EAC, and I have LAME.
They are both 'installed' correctly. EAC is set to use LAME.
Now, I want to encode @ 256 in stereo.
Reading the LAME guff, there are '%'s all over the place, but '-'s before all the switch letters.
In EAC, there are encoding options to set bitrate and quality, as well as a box to enter command line options.
If I just use default settings (WTF is altpreset standard, anyway?) I get ~80Kb/s jointstereo files.
When I set 256 and HQ in the options boxes and remove the (meaningless to me) command line options, I get 256 but still fucking jointstereo. HQ? I think not.

What I'd like to know is how to use the command line options to set proper stereo/256.

Any takers?

Never mind. I had a good look around, found out about alt presets and learned that standard is high quality... Well, I checked some files in Winamp and saw an average bitrate of ~140 with joint stereo. Like fuck that's HQ.
Uninstalled.
