View Full Version : Testers Wanted

We are developing a new privacy tool where you can find working proxies with one click. Later versions will also allow you to doubleclick the result to use the selected proxy for all outgoing connections.

This will work for browsers and other apps (even if they don't offer proxy support)

Currently you can only search working proxies, select where to crosscheck them and manually add them to your browser or other apps which support proxies.

If you want to help testing this software please download

http://www.filesharingtalk.com/tools/setup.exe

and report any problems here.

Suggistion:

there should be Stop button to stop searching when its on progress, cuz some time when u select 100 result it takes time to complete.

We had a stop button before but the MS Inet control is buggy (Inet.Cancel doesn't really cancel a request).

We will add a stop button to the next release cause our Inet control replacement is coded then.

@stupidguy

Depending on your connection speed it can take a while to gather results cause the tool also verifies if a proxy is working or not.

Suggistion:

1) Should have right click Menu in Proxy list, so u can copy the Selected proxy's Ip And Port.
http://img25.photobucket.com/albums/v74/bawa69/2.jpg

2 )Should Be "Always On Top"

Bugg:

Some time only Port is shown in search

I'll add the stop function now and also the copy to clipboard function and update the tool.

Thanks for the bug report too I'll have a look into that now.

Suggistion:

Most proxies r out Of dated or too old so if there will be a search option where u can enter Date to search for newst proxies it will help too much.

The current setup grabs always the latest proxies (the lists are updated daily multipls times) and checks them vs your selected google site to make sure that the list only contains working proxies.

If you want try the new version with stop button but it could be that it will cause a little delay if you search for new ones cause the Inet controls have to timeout first (damn buggy MS controls lol)

The new version also allows you to copy the selected proxy by double click to your clipboard.

Simply doubleclick a result and it will be in your clipboard.

Future versions will allow more.. this is just a very early test version to find troubles.

New test version:

@firewall problem:

There should be no problem cause the program normally asks for internet access - see screenshot below:

I guess you are not using the new version cause I don't see a stop button in your screenshot :)

About the process list - It's because the inet didnt timeout but we are working on it (writing some new Inet control to get rid of this problem)

Thanks for your feedback so far :)

Ah ok ;)

Well I will release another (more stable) version once our own inet control is done. Makes no sense to deal with standard stuff cause you see what happens...

I'll add future releases to this post.

Thanks for testing again.

All problems are fixed so far. You can expect a RC version within 24 - 48 hours. Everything is improved and all bugs are gone.

Latest Screenshot:

Future Additions:

Both old versions were deleted to make sure that nobody grabs a buggy version.

Thanks again for testing so far.

Does the proxy tool make all of your connections to the internet use a proxy, or just your connections to the web via a browser.

I have little interest in my IE connection using a proxy, I'm only surfing the web so who gives a feck. However I have a great interest in my file sharing apps using a proxy.

Thanks for any clarification, or explanation on how to configure this for individual applications.

Right now it just searches for working proxies but in future you will be able to doubleclick search results and use the selected proxy for ALL connections (doesn't matter if the app supports proxies or not).

We will also have a few own proxies for FST senior members (free to use) since bandwidth is very cheap at the moment (US $ 0.17 per GB) but I can't confirm it atm cause everything is still under heavy development.

I'll keep you updated on this. RC1 will not support much (only basinc searching). We just make it available cause more people find more bugs :)

I'd like to try it when it's ready. ;)
