Try cleaning your registry of all BFVietnam entries (by searching/deleting) and then re-installing. You could also try it on another machine (friends). Try installing another game just to rule out the OS. Also try installing from another Drive (hard/cd/dvd).

I remember someone saying something about how the temp folder wasnt REALLY needed. Would it help to clean the folder out, then try installing?

Yes of course, anything is worth trying to get BF Vietnam running. The only files in Temp you may not be able to remove are any that are currently in use by running programs/processes.

I deleted the ENTIRE temp folder out of desparation/frustration, and it still gives me the same damn message. Is there anything I can do besides telling XP to go f*ck itself?

and, can anybody hook me up with a little something that'll get far cry multiplayer running? (the single player kinda went to shit)
