well, seeing as we're here... aren't we all using KaZaA Lite? I have a question though, why is it called KaZaA Lite anyway? Isn't Lite supposed to be worse? It seems to be better than the original KaZaA... why is this?

Kazaa Lite (General)
Emule (Games)
WinMX (Should I keep it?) :P

It's named Kazaa Lite because it does not contain spyware or adware, so therefore it's with "Lite" Here we like to use the term K++, Kazaa Enhanced. Still some people perfer saying KL.

Kazaa Lite is like Kazaa without all the bad stuff (the calories) All the bad stuff is taking out of Kazaa like the Advertisements and that's what makes it so good.

I use Kazaa Lite now a days for all my stuff. I have found that it is the fastest out of all the programs available. It's a lot easier then that BearShare crap. I also use mIRC but I think the speeds you get from there aren't as fast as Kazaa.

Kazaa Lite K++ for more common files, especially movies and series, 'cause you won't get that kind of speed anywhere, save perhaps iMesh (crap program).
http://www.k-lite.tk

eDonkey (not eMule because eDonkey now supports both networks simultaneously) for new releases, especially games. All new releases are first released either on IRC or the eDonkey network.

Direct Connect DC++ for rare files - DC doesn't depend on sources and you usually get at least 5 kB/s off each source, except dialup (therefore no more 0.01 kB/s on rare stuff). It also requires to share good files. Basically, good network with broadband in mind

k++ for music

eMule for movies

I hear a lot of complaints about eMule speeds, but I get my best d/l speeds on eMule. My average d/l speed on k++ is around 15 kBs, IF I'm lucky. Emule....average is 35 kBs, peaks at about 75-80.
