I was wondering with all the crap going on with the RIAA, is there a new version of K-Lite or K++? I believe my version to be out dated. Since I did not up grade iin such a long time. I have k-lite v2.4.1. w/ k++.

I am also having troubles downloading music, most of the tunes are now coming to me playing only seconds of the tracks and the rest of the track is distorted. Is there another way of downloading songs without the distortion and getting a better grade of music files?

Also with the regards to the RIAA, is there any way to share files with other users, that the RIAA does not find out my user info and try to file suite on me as well?

There are a some newer versions of k-lite.
There's 2.4.3,is excellent, then there's KLR,....you'll find links to download one of them on this board somewhere.

The files you have that are distorted are corrupt and placed on the fastracknetwork by the RIAA.The only way to be sure you'll get clean musicfiles is to use verified hashes(you can find those in musicworld on this board)but you're better of installing soulseek if you want to download music(you can find this on this board also)

And yes,you can share your files without showing it on the fastracknetwork.
Just go to your k-lite options>>privacy>>tick "hide my shared folder"...but you'll have to upgrade your k-lite to 2.4.3 or higher if you want to do that.

:) Happy Sharing

yes there are

the last official klite was 2.4.3 there is a 2.4.4 packed by dg_mortal

kazaa lite resurrection pickup where klite left off so now there is klr2.5.0(.0.0.7)

and also there is a new k-lite 2.6 which is based on the new kmd2.6

as far as riaa you can hide you files from being seen but that does not make you safe as they grabb your ip when you come out to download

you can find all versions of klite and more info here (http://ktechsupport.clicdev.com/f/index.php?act=idx)

I noticed that I can not pm you, this is ok I guess. I was wandering if you have any idea how to get around dlding bad files, you know those ones that make the screeching noizes half way through, or the ones that continually loop, or even go completely blank..... been a lot of them lately in Kazaa Lite.

It doesn't matter what version of Kazaa lite we are using, these infractions are making hard to dl any mp3 files..... I and about 4,000,000 other users would like to know how to beat the infraction. (a.k.a Screeching, Loops, and Dead Silence) in the mp3 files.

Kazaa Lite by far is and was the best for sharing music files and other things, but I think you guys & gals that develope the tools on kazaa lite should try to come up with an add on to eliminate the so called (screetches,Loops & dead silence ) that the RIAA keeps putting in these files..... I'll keep using Kazaa-Lite no matter what, and I'll back them up if I can.

Well good luck on finding an add on to combat these infractions.

From a supporting member of Kazaa-Lite. :frusty:

There's where your argument falls apart. Kazaa is simply garbage now, there are much better networks, especially for music (http://www.slsknet.org). ;)

BTW, Use DK to scan for fake MP3s. :)

If you want to be protected from the RIAA and the MPAA you can download Peer Guardian. Just go to http://www.geocities.com/kazaalite243/peerguardian.html Then install PeerGuardian and open it up, configure it to always run in background minimized then update it. Then update the IP Blocker that came with Kazaa Lite!! You will now be protected!! :D

I believe he was rooting for Kazaa Lite, not the time it took to download the software.
