Introducing New Admin Of Fst!

Hi everyone, My name is Brian. I am the new Administrator of this forum. I am good firends with Marc (7th element). Marc has been very busy with other project so I have stepped in to take care of his day to day admin duties. I will try to make myself available for any questions, comments or concerns. Everything will continue to run as normal, except for the fact that i will be here quite often.

Let me introduce myself.
I am a 22 year old Senoir at Rutgers University in NJ studying economics. I run several other sites/forums, this one now being the largest. My background in filesharing is not extremely polished, so I may not sound as filesharing literate as everyone else. I will learn a great deal here and will try my best to make this place as user friendly and active as possible. My AIM name is edbri87, and my msn messenger name is [email protected]. The older skins were much nicer to look at, and actually took up the full screen no matter what resolution was used.

Hopefully somebody has some screenshots of the skins before they were taken away.

I am completely amazed, after all the effort I have put into convincing 7th to make changes to this board Here (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=98653) and Here (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=106003&st=30) and Here (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=106198&st=15) and Here (http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=106198&st=30) and after all this and nearly 2 months later he finally agrees to make the changes and even grants the poll to come to a conclusion of how to implement them, suddenly he decides to bail out and turn ship.

I have few words for the difficult period that this has been with an admin that just seemed to not care or was just to stubborn to listen, nor can I even begin to explain what I think of this...

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say something. Nowadays with postcount enabled in the lounge, so many people have been going there just to bable on to get 5 stars, in fact many people that I see (excluding big boab and the like) have more posts in the lounge than anywhere else, and not to mention that the lounge has 200,000+ replys. That is enough replies to give 200 members 5 stars. so my idea is to become a sr. member you must have the following criterea:

1) Your main post % cannot be in the lounge. Many people go there just to gian postcount (I do know that some people truly like it there, and so after very careful inspection they can be deemed sr.Member)


2) you should be helpful in all sections of the board, and make sure that noobies don&#39;t break the rules.

3) you should show respect to all members and do not consider yourself higher than someone else just because of your postcount. (Remember: quality is better than quantity)

After you have gotten 1,000+ posts, you will be verified by a moderator who then decides if you should be promoted to sr.Member status. When in sr.Member status, those people who were carefully reviewed and deemed "helpful to the board" will have the following abilities:

1)be able to make polls.

2) may close a topic deemed as "against the rules" of that forum

3) Will have 5 stars and be demmed a sr.Member

4) May be able to pin inportant topics in one section only, depending on what section that you choose to look after (the place where you post the most)

5) Please post what else you think (or is this enough?) that sr. Members should have, (or not have)

Thanks so much for the warm welcomes. I plan on staying here for years to come. I ahve no plans of leaving. As for the skins, I talked with 7th and he told me the reason for this skin is because it has many security features built into it since he created it. So I will probably be sticking with this one for some time. The other suggestions will be considered.

Security features my arse. Look at what happened last night, the skin didn&#39;t stop that eh?

The forum was offline because of a DDOS attack. Scripts on the forum can&#39;t do anything about that.

7th made a lot a changes like to prevent accidental double posts. Also the integration with the FST website.

The double post prevention is enabled in every skin.

His new script may stop certain scripts, but it also is not perfect, and people run into problems with it.

Putting the script on a few more skins couldn&#39;t possibly be very hard with 4 admins...
