my downloads on kazaa lite are soooooooooo slow. no more than 3 kps it take about 2 hours to download one song. using highest bandwidth available and low file size. if i use more than five users it starts screeching half way through. any solutions really starting to annoy me. any help whatsoever will be appreciated.

your download speed depends on the # of sources for it and their upload speed, anddon't be fooled by whatyou see in the search window they are not an indication of who is available for connection so change supernodes to see if you get lucky, also use localized supernodes, also try changing ports, and lower your upload bandwidth, remove the no ip sources from your dat files and see if it helps , and if you have a router you need to getkanat (http://www.fasttrackhelp.com/development/ftfakes/)

How, exactly, do I remove the no IP sources from my dat files? Do you mean if there's no "Source Node" listed on K-Dat? Or if the port number is 0 in the source node, or if there's no user and it just says "Not Stored?"

I'm sorry. :frusty: I'm trying, but most of the advice on here is coming through as techno-babble. I've read most of the FAQ, but half of THAT comes through as techno-babble.

for the all that with the k-dat and no ip sources i have a walk thru on my forum here at kltforums (http://ktechsupport.clicdev.com/f/index.php?act=idx)

but if you like to try, you want to delete the files that have no supernode ip or port

This is totally seperate from your problem, and you should look at the pinned thread by BOT for more info. :)

I'm registering on that forum, now.

Okay, so I opened K-Dat and was flipping down through the files, and found one with no port. I clicked on "<Not Stored>" and flipped down through the sources. So do you mean I have to delete the entire dat file if one source has no port or IP listed, or just that particular source? Because I tried to delete the specific source, and it gives me "I/O error 32." I tried to Update the source, and it does the same. And now I'm wondering if these files are going to be slow to download anyway because I switched from Kazaa to Kazaa Lite ++ only within the last week or so, so the sources that it had on Kazaa are no longer functional? There's got to be a way to figure this out other than deleting several weeks of downloaded dat file and starting over.

K++ is pretty old. You can download KLR 2.50 or K-Lite 2.6 RC19 at the link MM gave you. :)

And that I/O error is an error specific to your machine... :(

I have version 2.4.3, which doesn't seem all -that- old and works perfectly fine as it is. And for some reason, the link Musleman posted isn't working now.
