Is there a program or somthin that will let you run games that only play on Windows 95?

ScummVM (http://www.scummvm.org/) is a good place to start, but which games exactly?

If you really need to play an older game that doesn't work under XP, you could always install Windows 95 on a seperate partition. Then when you start your PC it'll ask which OS you want to boot to.

BTW, here is a list of XP compatible programs...

I did have the same problem with games when i first migrated to XPPro even when running it under Win95 or Win98 compatiability !

Solution - SP1 update + ALL of the "windows updates"
minus - the REAL crappy ones !

No probs now! (I've even stopped using 2 operating systems -XPPro+Win98))
XPPro all the way now!

Still waiting to hear what Tormentor's problem games are... :ermm:

Sure... installing service packs, hotfixes and running compatibility mode is good, but it won't solve all issues with old games.

For example, when playing the any of the LucasArts classic adventure games (Win95/DOS) on an NT based system (Windows NT, 2000 & XP), audio doesn't work.

LucasArts classic adventure series includes:
Sam & Max Hit the Road
Most of the Monkey Island series
Day of the Tentacle

...just to name a few. There are also games from other software companies that give problems.

To get the sound working in those games on an XP PC, use ScummVM, which I linked to in my previous post.
If that doesn't work, check out VDMSound (http://ntvdm.cjb.net/).

VDMSound can be very useful. I used it once in the past to overcome some sound issues with a Win95 game.

sometimes a patch will help, but in the case of Black & White (you know, the over-hyped crap game) it just plain won't work

Riight... that's why I have played it on my XP Pro machine for the past two months without problems whatsoever... because it won't run in XP.

Guess yours' just grumpy.
