6:19pm up 23 days, 23:26, 1 user, load average: 0.27, 0.43, 0.46

The load averages are very very very fast, so I don't see why anyone is having problems.

As said in other threads, i cannot stress enuff for ppl start using
other browsers that IE. They are soooo much faster.
Please do yourself a favor on try Firefox 0.8 (http://www.tucows.com/preview/324545.html)

I had problems too, sometimes board is slow, i chanced to Firefox and all is fine.
I also use Opera sometimes, no problems, thats why i suspect this is a IE-issue.
There is many things that can slow down your browser, maybe you ISP is having
server issues, maybe you have a lot of programs running in background,
maybe, maybe...

I read this and had to agree that pages here were slow to load.

Then I tried three other forums (fora?) and found them equally slow (all Invision powered).

Then I closed Azureus (running a download @ 100Kbps and three seeds at 32Kbps).

Now I find this forum bangs in like a good 'un.

My case - too much bandwidth being used for torrents

the speed seems to have improved in the last hour, but i am now getting errors on page in the bar down the bottom of IE

also , when it was slow i did notice, when it was loading a thing in the same bar which seemed to directing it to something , all i can tell you is that it ended in a number like 753 or something

not sure what it was but it may help in fault finding

Only this forum is slow!!!!!!

How long it took to go through entire Net Adster? :P

Anyways,
If it is such a huuuuge problem surely you are willing to work on it too.
Try some options mentioned here, if you have not before,
I mean, what you have got to lose?

Nobodys forcing you to do anything about the stituation ie. chance the browser,
but if i had problems i would try to get around it somehow.

I just browsed this forum with IE6, Firefox and Opera, all of them works fine from here.

About the "Loaded but with errors" thing, i think that could come if there is some code
in the page that is not supported by your current browser/OS, like Java or something.
I know this because i've fiddled around with html and if i add some Java code things innit,
i get the same error in the status bar sometimes.

In the end, i am no coder and I do not know why you have these problems,
im just giving you some pointers what you could do to around with this atm.
so you could enjoy your visit in here.

:)

I have had some issues with IE6 that i cant explain/understand why it is so slow

I have had the slow opening of pages (if open at all) I beleive since i did the last updates from MS, i have not been able to open this site for three days now, i am on a friends puter with ie6 and having noproblem.

I have just registered a few day ago, i had no-problem the first two days, have made no changes to sys. i hope this problem gets fixed, it has taken a long time to find a fourm with useable info like you all provide.

Please help me to fix the problem if in fact you think it is not this site.

Edit: I now am able to get page to open from my box, but must wait 30 to 60 sec and somtimes 2 min, after hitting refresh several times i get it to load, most of the time i sit and look at blue screen, all so here is the error description i get when home page loads.

Line:1106
Char:3
Error:object expected
Code:0

this error is on all filesharing web pages in fourms, only thing that changes on the diffrent pages is Line:xxxx

the last update for ie6 was KB831167, I am not sure but think this is the problem, but can not find how to un-intall this update?

The board works absolutely fine for me, in any browser.

I am also downloading several torrents and stuff from soulseek at the same time.

Can I point out that you do not have a direct connection to the forum. As such any part of the interweb which is slowing your packets down will slow the whole thing down. It may just be something, in some part of the route, between the server the board is on and your PC.

The fact that other boards are working fine just means that the problem in the route is not occuring for those boards. The packets are getting to you a different way.

The fact that this board is working well for the majority of people means that the board is working well.

The problem is obviously with neither the board, or your PC.

The traceroute didn't really show any delays though, which is odd. Usually the traceroute will show a lag when things appear slow

I've just realised, I am also doing it thro' a medium strength proxy which should slow it down a bit more.

Seriously it is fine for me.

There can be a bit of a peak at atlas.cogento.com, but it doesn't seem to affect my access .

I was just wondering if ad being antipodean may be causing some of the problems. The server is in the USA isn't it. Perhaps the other ones he is going to are based in Oz or Europe. Just a thought.

Yes, to get to this board from Australia, Adsters PC will connect in several places
during the transfer. It only takes 1 bad server/pc in the chain to make the
transfer slow.

So, i agree with J'Pol here, its not have to be FST-board or the FST-server to cause this problem. It could be but since majority of users seems to be browsing without complications
i would say the problem is more likely "in between".

I can not prove this theory, i just play my Honky guitar.
;)

And Adster, you been up 50 hours, drinking 18 hours, and the board not
loading right is Teh Problem?

Please, take a little nap, sober out, go out and play some of that wicked football you
guys do in Australia or something.
By the time you come back the possible problem "in between" might have solved itself.

Funny how everything worked fine 2 weeks ago and then all of a sudden everything goes wrong.

ok although im from oz also, here is what i have found

seems to slow down after prolonged uptime, eg online 12 hours plus, when i reboot it seems to fix it , weather i have been downloading or not

i did a scan with a spyware software i dont normaly use , the bsp one and it seemed to have an effect

the main packet problem is it does not return the search request , as in you dont get the white box ect b4 it just goes blue and waits

obviously this is becomming more of a problem , and i hope we can work it out

after running every spyware / adware out there atm it seems to be stable , so i can just surmise that it may be ad ware that trying to redirect the forum

this maybe a big possibility, think about it , there are ppl here that would want to see this place fall over after all the sudden changes!!!!! we know who they are
and it wouldnt be hard to achieve a hack to do this ????
think about it !!!!

Just to let everyone know, that I've been having the same problems, and reported them myself in Team Chat - I was able to make one bloody post in about 4 days. Today it's been perfectly fine.

And as far as changing browsers, why? Every other site on the internet works, including other Invision boards, so it's obviously not the browser that's the issue. Especially when this site worked one day, and not the next - and I made absolutely no changes on my end at all.

I was getting exactly the same thing as Ad - blank background with nothing else loading - I could leave it up for three hours and still have the same thing showing. Once in a while if I refreshed 20 or 30 times I'd get one page, but then I'd click a link and get the same thing. And every time a page finally did load, I had the same message in the status bar. Done but with errors.

It'd be nice if people would stop assuming that because something works for them, that we're the ones with the problem.

For the record, I use Windows 2000, which is service packed up to date, and IE 6 also service packed up to date. So it wasn't just people with XP.

sometimes it doesn't open at all for me, i must refresh the site again and again till the board opens. i use the IE and Mozilla.
but i guess i know the reason. if you use the nedstatbasic statistics for your site, that could be a reason. they have some problems now and their script doesn't load.
i can't see the nedstatbasic bottom on my site now, it doesn't load.
probably i'm wrong, but you should check it.
Best regards
I was write guys :P
Nedstatbasic statistic works again and forum too.
Is it coincidence? I don't think so.
Either the forum has statistics by Nedstatbasic or the redirect hosting.
I had the same problem with my site, i have delited the statustics script, and it worked write again :D
So, good luck!
