Hi

1) Has anyone managed to play this at 'very high'? I think I have a reasonable set up, not cutting edge or anything but it is auto detecting medium  and I wondered what you need to be able tp play it at very high, oh and how do you measure your fps rate?

2) Does anyone get the game hanging your system requiring the big reset button to be pressed at fairly regular intervals? :(

any feedback would be appreciated thanks :) . It's a top fps btw for anyone who hasn't played it.

what ur specs? youll probably be able to play it at very high if u want too, but dont use a high reolution, just 1024*768 or lower is good.

to measure FPS i use a program called FRAPS. you can find it with google.

thanks for the continuing feedback :)

reformating my pc would be a heck of a hassle :( so don't really wanna go down that avenue

when I run Fraps (thanks Rossco ;) ) I get about 10-15 on high settings about 30 odd on medium, is this what I should be expecting?

also the screen kinda goes all distorted and blocky every so often meaning that I have to try and get to my desktop which tends to sort it, it's a bit of a concern

with a radeon 9600 you can't expect to run far cry on anything above medium at 1024x768 resolution. im using one myself overclocked to 9600 pro speeds and i have trouble running the game at anything above medium at 1024x768 (well for now, im getting more memory soon). so the 30 or so fps your getting at medium detail levels is what you should be seeing.

i dont know why ur getting disorting screen, hopefully somebody can help u there.

thanks pal, I don't know much, well anything actually  , about frame rates so I wasn't sure if I was getting what I should be getting. Thanks for the confirmation :)
