I have been playing UT2004 under the illusion that I was at least average at fps having completed quite a few, apparently I was very much mislead :(
are there classes for people such as me or should I just box up my pc and put it in the attic? :(

try online, its totally different than playing single. I found that I was really good at single player, but when I went online the people all have strategies so you gotta get used to that before ur any good, then u get back to single player and u suck again...thats what ive found happening.

or I may just suck at both of em  :(
strategies!!! you mean I have to have one of them as well, good grief this is gonna be harder than I thought
(ta for the advice ;) , I will get my act together and get online soon, it's been an age since I last played UT so I am just trying to get used to it again, seems a lot faster this time around.....or maybe I am getting slower  )

there really should be a server for those that suck, where no 7 year old prodigies are allowed :) , you know somewhere you could have tea and biscuits at half time or play in your slippers while smoking a pipe.

Experience comes with time. If you want to become a master at something, repeat it a hundred thousand times

No. Practice ie repetition merely allows us to become better at a task. Mastery on the other hand requires innate talent. Lots of people spend years practicing the violin yet extremely few become Itzhak Perlman's.
I still have my Unreal Tournament Gold CD.
