How do other people using bittorrent download from my computer/files??

Basics:

Say you just backed up a game (made an iso) most people usually put it into Rar files (.001, .ro1 etc) Then use MakeTorrent or some program like it to make a file that "indexes" the rar folder.

The person then uploads the [torrent files are not allowed] file onto a tracker. The people that want the file access the tracker and download the [torrent files are not allowed] file.

The bt program splits the file into lots of small peice, a 4 gig file would be more then 2000 pieces. This helps to prevent corruption.

When the person who made the file is seeding, it shows as a bar that slowly turns green as he gives out the files so that they are spread out faster. So in other words, instead of starting at the begining of the file for each person that connects, the new connection gets it from someone else who already gotten it from the seeder and gets files that haven been givin out by the seeder yet. That way it goes faster.

lol... hope i didnt loose you with that last part. It was pretty had to think of a way to explain it.

You probably have the original client, right? There are other cliients that have more fuctions like Azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/) which supports plug-ins like the safepeer plug-in that blocks bad IPs. Also, there are several programs that can search for torrents without the sites. Azureus used to have a plug-ins called SuprnovaLister which allowed you to search for all the torrents on Suprnova.org (http://www.suprnova.org/) (you can still find it if you look).

I don't know if TorrentHunter (http://www.geocities.com/teknikal/) still works, but it allowed you to search for torrents. You could use Torrent-Xtreme ('http://www[torrent) for searching.
