This is the same thing that happens for me.. I load Kazaa, It will take like 5-10 mins to connect (which it shouldn't).. I'll start downloading something, it will disconnect for like 5-10 mins, and then start back up.. what can I do?

check for apyware or trojens and make sure you got the correct config for your upload/download

I know for a fact that I dont have any viruses or trojans.. and all the settings are correct. I have the latest version of Kazaa. 2.4.3, and I've tried 2.4.4, neither of them connect on a timely basis. I prefer Kazaa over any other p2p program, just because of its ease of use, and organization.. but I'm frustrated because I can't get it to work.. Do any of you have any suggestions?

Searching too often may cause this or having auto search on.

BTW, the stuff I'm downloading right now is a bit rare so I've got auto-search unlimited the whole time for more sources.

As Siggo said, it dissconnects couple of times but this doesn't bother me cause it noly takes a second to connect again not 10min  . The downloading stuff isn't even interrupted, only if I jump supernodes.

I still download as much as I've always downloaded but I might turn it off in the future. :)

Yes, I've run adaware.. I tried turning auto search off, but its still a pain to have to wait 10 mins to connect on startup..

I've found that changing the port number in your Options>firewall tab can help with slow connect times.

Just add add a single digit to the existing number (provided the existing number is <6000 and is a 4 digit number).

The next time it's slow take away the number you first thought of.

So you want me to try a 5 digit port number?

Yup, as long as its below 65536.

Now it connects to the server, I can search and whatnot, but it can never connect to a user. This isnt good :(
