View Full Version : Big Words, Big Talk

i was just wondering if insulting people with big words is more effective than just plain derogatory strings?

for example, which is more hurtful:

"Shut your mouth, you semantics-talking, son of a bitch"

or

"Shut the fuck up, you cock-schmoking, fag packet"

EDIT: bad spellings
EDIT: the 'speelings' thing wasn't funny

I find the more eloquent insults tend to be wasted on their targets.

"Shut it, scum, one day my taxes will be paying for your giro" is a prime example - the bastards actually take pride in it.

Yeah like you've ever said that to someone without your face being caved in.

No, it worked quite well on the neds at school, they really do feel quite happy about it. You can even get away with substituting "giro" with "prison cell", because it makes them feel like they're hard.

Ned = Non-Educated Delinquent

Are there "EDs" in Scottland and thus the "n" is needed for clarification?

You can use the biggest words in the world but if the guy you say them to still flattens you it really makes no difference

Yes.

And to be honest I prefer "nominally-educated delinquent" as it's more accurate.

Needlessly-Educated may be even more accurate.

The bar stewards are never going to make use of their education anyway.

Yes but while getting kick shitless the insultee will mark it down as a victory safe in the knowledge that he/she was intellectually superior to the insulted.

You know....i am a very peaceful mouse.

However...

I have on occasion been known to say something like "oi dumbass i hope you like standing on street corners cos you're gonna be doing it for the rest of your life" or " "shut it you idiotic scumbag"

Only when i'm riled though. Otherwise i just laugh at people who try and argue with me. :D
