Try a real player (QCD Player, Winamp). What exactly makes your question an important question?

I don't think he wanted to preview music.

Try Winamp.

You could well be right but I presume the major use of "Theatre" is to preview downloads so I thought we might cover that aspect as he is not specific as to purpose.

I find "Theatre" very flaky at the best of times so I wouldn't use it for anything preferring QCD for audio, Zoom Player for video and VideoLan for all previews.

Nothing apart from it trying to be Jack-of-all-trades and succeeding in being master of none - plus it eats your CPU and tries (like all MS products) to take over the world, especially your computer.

Real Alternative and Quick Time Alternative are your best bets if you want WMP based apps.
