Ummmm i have a problem. I downloaded a movie that say its a AVI but when i tryed to play it on DirX which is the AVi player, it doesn't work. I also tryed WMP(windows media player) but that failed too, i even tryed quick time but no luck. Does anyone know what kind of movie player i need? Thanks for your help.

One more thing. How come most of the movies that i download cannot be watch? and some say mpg which my friend can say i can watch them on WMP but i can't. Do i need some kind of special movie player?

I have WMP, DirX, Quicktime...

hi...firstly, if you downloaded from Kazaa, it may be a corrupt file. But before you delete it, look for a player called VLC. It plays near on everything, it has never not been able to play something for me. Try either downloading it from Kazaa or use bit torrent. Let me know how you get on!

FIRST , install codecs. try the klite codecs pack @ http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm

then get media player classic, or jet audio. try playing you movies in each of them. note; you DO NOT need DivX Player to play divx encoded video files - you only need the codec/s installed. also, load the avi file into gspot [comes with klite codec pack] it will tell you what codec was used to encode the avi
