 We once kept calling a guy saying that we were an escort agency, it was so fun! We kept leaving messages groaning and moaning.

Then the next week we ran into him on a birthday party while he was letting everyone listen to the messages I'd left on his answering machine

Make out that you’ve got a huge problem and say that it’s broken your machine, pretend to cry to gain their sympathy and trust. After years of friendship/being his best man at his wedding/having barbeques, kill him and make it look like an accident.

That's almost as bad as what we did as teenagers...

Would call up people and ask them to sing the "Campbells Soup Jingle", and in about 2-3 weeks they'd receive a free case of their favorite flavor. NOT...

America On Line.....home of computer illiterates, dorks, idiots and many assorted degenerates. Net surfing on training wheels.

"AOL comes pre-loaded with popups, adware and more spyware than you can shake a keyboard at! Sign up now, and for 2 to 3 times as much as regular internet, AOL can track you 2!! We'll then sell your info to every tom-dick-&-harry with a couple of bucks in their pockets.
Guanteed hours of thrills erasing tons of spam selling shit you don't need, don't want, and wish to Heaven you'd never even heard of. Hell, we'll even Bork your comp...for free!!!
We also have the stupidest tech's in the industry! You'll love listening to our talking heads, most of which sat at a comp for the first time when they came to work for us! Come on in, surf with us!! FInd out why idiots everywhere love AOL!"

Talking to AOL'ers is boring. Having a duel of wits with an unarmed opponent is novel, but lacks a certain zest.....kinda like arguin with a wall :frusty:

british companys try to be american

non-british companies are american

i'm not against globilisation as such, just the fact that the people with money are trying to turn england into mini america. you know its a surprise, even a novelty to see england on mtv

*67 displays a "private or anonymous" number. *69 returns the call if someone has called you and hung up or whatever and you want to return the favor.

I had a cousin once. Was very into "phones" so to say. So much that all he could do was call people on the telephone and either prank call or do something else silly. I suppose there was also some social engineering involved when he started calling businesses and tricking people into giving out private info etc. The police finally caught up with him despite the fact he used prepaid phones for all his offenses. I'm not sure what the extent of everything was but all I know is I turned around and he was gone!

Sent to prison for 4 years for some phone calls. Since I never knew all the details I just as well assumed that phone companies and the authorities have an extremely low tolerance for that kind of thing. So be careful...........because it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

A great target base for that type of stuff is telemarketers. Not sure if you get them where you live but in the U.S. they are a pain. I generally get the number their calling from and my roomate can do this really neat thing with the phone where it doesn't really hang up and the other party is sort of just stuck there on the other line unable to hang up. We just laugh because all you can hear is the telemarketer saying "Hello, hello, are you there"

At least then you have an excuse, because they called you.
