once again he has thrown a wobbler while him and my mum were out.. i dont know what over but in the 2-3+ years they have been going out this has happened about 10 times.. tonight while at the club he threw a bottle (or tried to) over my mums head.. he was quickly surrounded by about 10 guys ( :01: ) all waiting to pwn his ass..

i am occasionally involved in this while at home, almost standing as a bodyguard to my mum waiting for the 6ft 3 guy to through a punch at me. luckly he is ginger otherwise i wud be shit scared of him  (tryin 2 make a light joke on the matter)

we have all the doors locked with the keys in fearing that he could come in.. damn i hope i dont end up like him.. fucking ruins my childhood shit like this <_<

<_< That sounds pretty bad, any idea why your mum puts up with him??

:) At least you're trying to make light of it and know it's not the way to behave.

Protection can be done in many ways......

And true protection lasts....

Did you never blame your ma for her choice of partner, disregarding your

discomfort?

I am happy for you it worked in your opinion, though.....

Bet if they were assholes, they had it coming.....

Just not my style.

@dave: i had not a good childhood after my mom died when i was seven and my

dad made all the wrong moves you can think of.....

You sound quite clever and friendly; you will make it!!!

And remember you have whole life ahead of you living that childhood; see

how demented i can be at 45........

Ohh, and i assure you, you'll never be like "them"!!!!!

this aint the right way to do it but ,this is what a friend and i handled a matter like this!

1 day his moms new boyfriend was trippin so we decided to change his life! :D
we waited till he was nice a drunk like he always is around 5pm :frusty:
half passed out we walk in on him while he watching tv and 1 of u hold his hands
while the other threatens his lil life with a knife to the throat!..and some kind words of touch my boys mom again and you'll find yourself butt naked in the woods with nowhere to go :D ....like i said it was'nt the best way to handle the matter ,but it worked this guy has'nt drank in 4 yrs and now when we see him he acts like he know cuz if he don't he'll see another fearfull night ;)

These so called mums are very lucky to have kids who will stick by them no matter how much they are screwing up their childhoods. You all deserve medals for keeping your sanity.

Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to have someone who will kick ass on my behalf :D

As for ending up like your folks I agree with Yogi, I don't think it truly happens, we're all given choices in alife and we all have free will.

I think some of you are being a bit too hard on the 'mum' here. I don't think she actually does this on purpose and none of you seem to understand that once you get into a violent rel'p, you get into a vicious circle as well.

Violence from someone you love breaks you down not only fysically, but mostly emotionally as well. Often it isn't a matter of not wanting to escape, it's a matter of not being able to.

It's exactly this stupid and right out despicable attitude that stops women in situations like this from trying to get help. <_<

Well, the best you can do is be supportive and assure her that you'll be there to help her. Make her understand she's not alone in dealing with it. That it's not a crime to feel scared and that the police are actually there to help out with stuff like this.

Good luck :)

the best thing is to keep channels of communication open within the family, and to be able to chat to your mates about it.
