My parents just bought me Alias the game for my PC and when I start it up and start the game it looks like the lights are flashing on and off, my pc specs are fine why would this be? My graphics card is a ATI 9800 this problem also happened with the dues ex 2 game demo…any help would be great.

Is everything securely plugged in (i.e. moniter, etc)? What drivers are you using?

Nope....just looked....to explain a bit better, the background graphics seem ok...but the characters clothes or them kinda look like a torch is above them going on then off then on etc...why would this happen since i have the proper specs?

Do you still have the same problem with your game? Try new drivers maybe?

Yip still the same with updated drivers.....my friend said it could be it trying to render it at my cards speed instead of the games speed.....could this be the case?

Thanks but my problems has just got worse! I decided to try the games again (not changing anything) and Alias says something about cant do something like VMR9 or something like that then closes. Farcry now just shows a black screen, and my pc when scrolling is jerky and just not right if you get me…as you kinda get to know the feel of your pc…

I have also had error messages saying stuff like

“No display drivers found” (when they are installed!!!)
“No 3d card found” (it is there trust me) lol..
“Cant render 3D”
“Card not compatible with my system” even though IT IS, the computer store said it was and also the cards specs itself say it is lol…

Am taking it to the store on Sunday so it will be away for 3 days (NOOOOOOOO!!!) lol….I am thinking it’s the card not my pc as its running fine, well apart from not playing games and slightly jerky scrolling lol, so once they find the problem with the card they will change it for free as I only got it in march…do you think am right thinking it’s the card?

Thanks again for the help

Do you have a virus? Try scanning your computer. Also try System Restore if that doesnt work.

i've heard nothing but good things about omega drivers, very n00bish question coming from me (i know i know, I also didn't think i'd ever see the day, does this mean the worlds going to end :o ) but are there any good omega drivers out there for nvidia? like good ones, that give the card a real kick in the ass and delivers some performance (more than the WHQL official nvidia drivers)??

I used Omega drivers and it tollaly FUCKED up Doom III. The screen was flickering black, lower framerate, I just decieded fuck these drivers I'm switching back to Nvidia's. I got the latsest Nvidia's no probloms, smootheer gameplay. Bottomline: Omega drivers suck ass.
