Doom III Will Not Work...

Ok...I'm sorry for posting another thread bout it lol

My specs are in my sig...and i put it all back at stock. I reformated my HDD even, and install doom 3 and it WILL NOT work. I can play for like 5 mins then the screen just gets wierd looking, or it goes to black screen with and error message from windows...and I gotta close down doom. I put it on my friends computer and he just has a FX5600 256MB version and his plays fine..

Also, My friends computer has a 2.5Ghz AMD with a 5600 256MB version. When I run the hardware scan thing to find best settings, it puts his on high settings at 800X600. It puts mine at Medium Settings at 800X600, and considering my card is MUCH better I dont see why it should be doing that. Also when my friends game opens doors it is pretty smooth. With mine it jumps around and shit.

what cat's u usin'? have heard mixed feelings on the 4.9beta doom3 cat's. i'm using the 4.7's and am fine. u usin' xp, xp sp1, xp sp2...?

It is all at stock and still wont work lol

try reinstalling the game...

download a different one from suprnova...

make sure ur vga is not overheating...

have latest drivers...

search on google for ur problem might find someone else with the same problem...

thats all i can think of i right now... :)

I haven&#39;t tried these but I saw mention of them, I think it was clocker giving cheese a link for his new gfx. Might be worth a try.
