Yes, i noticed them too.
My virus scanner also detected the file i downloaded.

Just look out for files with the developer/artist [SN]

I dont know what kind of virus it is but it just screws up your comp like puts this porn shit and hello kitty shit into your windows folder.Also it put a hole binch of crap into your kazza folder under other and if you delete them they come back.Also quarintineing the file does crap. :o

Thanks for the warning, but viruses are everywhere. So the best chance to not get one is to always keep your AV updated.

The best way to steer clear of viruses is to not download any software program under 1mb unless you are very sure.
I did that and i have been virus free for a year :D

Ah yea, the kitty porn virus..

Virus scanners cant even pick the damn thing up yet cause it works like a normal exe and puts the files on your hd (cause no damage at all) just makes u look like a perv. It sets your homepage and everything... I had to actually use a Installation checker to see what it did so I could get rid of everything it did. :ph34r:
Someone should submit it to norton. I think those pron company is actually making all those fake files to help advertise.. bastards (btw, the exe has an icon of some lips and is allways renamed to some crack for a game or something.)

this is what you do use adawre 6.0 you can get it on kazaa lite start a search it will find processes,files,resistery enteries,folders that are suspicious(sypware & adawere) and delete them then right after that scan with norton but I doubt its a virus probably what i said with adaware 6.0

This is the correct way to get rid of it.
You need to keep adaware up to date though and even then it do not allways work,the only other way i know is to manually delete.
Search all drives for the programs that are starting and delete all that you find.
Correct me if i`m wrong but it seems to have worked for me.

one of the greatest weapons for this type of garb(apart from your up to the minute anti-virus) is ROXIO GOBACK 3.1 DELUXE EDITION. get it from KazAa it&#39;s a must for all file swappers. even if something gets past your anti-virus programme, you can click on GOBACK and it will take you back to your specified time prior to that infected download. instead of taking hours and hours eradicating the garb from the insidious parasites that infected your computer, this takes about 5 MINUTES and you lose none of your previous downloads as you can back up before hand. many times i&#39;ve had to get a crack from a particular site knowing my desk top will be full of shit when i finish, i save the crack to a multi-session then click on GOBACK and PRESTO all the rubbish is gone &#33;(for a dummy like me it is priceless, no more reformatting)

Yes i agree this is the best way if a virus or trojan gets past your other security programs

If you arent using an updated antivirus you deserve to be shot in the head ,especially if youre still sharing ,that should be a crime punishable by the worst ways possible.

I use a multi layered defence against all the crap that comes with downloading from kazaa,and i had the W32 hlp.handy virus try and infect my computer after only a few minutes of starting a 2mb download.

Norton picked it up immediately and killed it ,then i went into sig2dat and looked into the advanced view to get their ip address and and tracked down their isp and blocked them all in my firewall.

Hell theres four miilion other people sharing ,i can do without that connection and all their infected users.

A good free program i use to monitor any startup changes and new registry entries set by trojans/viruses is ;

WINPATROL (http://www.winpatrol.com/)

It should be the fourth layer of defence you use after your firewall /antivirus /trojan scanner......

I use outpost and black ice , peer guardian and sentinel ,cause i want the extra level of security that only one firewall will not produce.

There are many trojans and viruses which are coded to disable your firewall and antivirus programs by default and without a backup in place, your basically fucked if you are unlucky enough to be infected.

The only good trojan scanner worth downloading is TDS-3 /trojan defence suite ,which can scan inside packed exe files and zip/rar files ,and also alternate datas streams in NTFS drives where trojans can hide from all other scanners.

If you use all these or similar programs and then GO-BACK Deluxe as the final layer, then while other people are forced to reformat their computers every time they get a virus or infected by Malware ,you can just laugh knowing that youre system is almost 99% protected....

And lastly then use Winguard pro free version

WINGUARD PRO (http://www.winguardpro.com/)

to password protect your system even further ,so that nothing can be run on your computer in the background without your computer asking your permission first...

This system has worked successfully for me ,so i just thought id share it with any one who actually wants to know how they can protect themselves and is looking for alternatives...

Of course you should still be using Spybot and Adaware regularly if you download a lot ....(if you like a clean system that is ,unless youre one of those misfits that enjoys sharing their viruses and trojans around).......
