Hello,

Today i bought a New PC. It didn't have any OS installed so when i try putting the WinXP disk it doesn't work. It asks me for a boot floopy or somethin. I have my other PC Boot Disk so Inserted it. This is what is says:

Searchin for Boot Record from Floopy............OK

Remove disks or other media.
Press any Key to restart.

When i press any key...the PC doesn't restart. What's happening here?? How do i install a OS on my new Pc?

Please advice!

Thnx for ur time,
Cheers :-)

go into the bios.

1. is the cd drive detected?
2. is it in the boot order? also make sure it is first on the list.

I don't know but nothing seems to be working.....

I checked bios...CD drive is there...also it's on #1.

This PC has only 1 CD drive so i guess I'm in da right drive!

I lost da Actual winxp disk so I downloaded winxp-Pro Corp-sp2 edition and tried booting with that disk……I also tried booting with original System Recovery disk…but nothing seemed to work!

not sure abt that......I downloaded winxp pro, it said in the description that this is a bootable CD. So I just burnt it on da CD and worked like a charm!
